Saudi Arabia's flynas ends longhaul budget experiment

flynas (XY, Riyadh) has terminated its presence in the international longhaul market with Jeddah and Riyadh to London Gatwick services having ended on October 25.

"As the load factors on the above routes have not met the company’s commercial expectations, flynas is concentrating on enhancing its performance by focusing strongly on its successful domestic and regional services," the Saudi budget carrier said in a statement.

Saudi Arabia's flynas phases out the EMB-190 from its fleet

Saudia begins wet-leasing a Malaysian Eaglexpress B747-400

Saudia (SV, Jeddah) has wet-leased a B747-400 from Malaysia's Eaglexpress Air Charter (EZX, Kuala Lumpur Int'l). Sources in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, state that the aircraft, 9M-MPD (msn 25701), will be used for charter services. A joint venture between private Malay and South Korean investors, Eagleexpress specializes in pilgrimage, holiday and business charters as well as ACMI operations on behalf of other airlines.
