Sanandaj, Iran to see international flights early next month

Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah) has announced it will commence scheduled services to Sanandaj in north-western Iran. Beginning April 7, the Emirati LCC will offer a 2x weekly service from Sharjah to Sanandaj thereby marking the Iranian airport's first international flights.

Sanandaj is currently linked to Tehran Mehrabad by Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad), Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad), and Qeshm Airlines (QB, Tehran Mehrabad).

Iran's Qeshm Airlines makes South East Asian debut

Qeshm Airlines (QB, Tehran Mehrabad) has ventured into the South East Asian market with the launch of daily flights from Tehran Imam Khomeini to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on Saturday, February 21. Service is on-board an A300-600.

The Iran-South East Asia market is currently dominated by Iran Air (IR, Tehran Mehrabad), Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad), and Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad).

Iran Aseman takes over two Mahan Air A320s

Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) has taken over two A320-200s, EP-APF (cn 354) and EP-APE (cn 414), formerly with Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad). As it stands, the aircraft are Iran Aseman's second Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) type after its sole A340-300, EP-APA (cn 2), which was recently returned to service following maintenance at Tehran Mehrabad.

Iran Aseman also operates six ATR72s, three B727-200s, one B727-200(F), and seventeen Fokker 100s.

Iran Aseman modifies its Kam-Air wet-lease

Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) has wet-leased a B767-200(ER), YA-KAM (msn 21879), from Afghan operator, Kam-Air (RQ, Kabul). The twinjet replaces another Kam-Air aircraft, an A320 YA-KMA (cn 480), which has since been deployed into service with Safi Airways (4Q, Kabul).

As it stands, Iran Aseman's fleet consists of an A340-300, six ATR72s, three B727-200s, two B727-200(F)s, and seventeen Fokker 100s.
