LAC - Línea Aérea Cuencana (L5, Cuenca) will shortly add its maiden Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) machinery to its fleet which, since its launch in May 2013, has consisted of a single CRJ-700.

Ecuador's Línea Aérea Cuencana to move operational base to Latacunga

LAC - Línea Aérea Cuencana (L5, Cuenca) is to move its operational base from Cuenca to Latacunga in a bid to increase its local market share. El Mercurio newspaper says the carrier recently suspended its Quito Int'l to Loja service in preparation for the move. A formal relaunch with new flights to Cuenca, Loja, Lago Agrio, Coca, Guayaquil and Manta is expected once certification at Latacunga is complete. Ecuador's Línea Aérea Cuencana to début with domestic ops from May 13

LAC - Línea Aérea Cuencana (L5, Cuenca) is, at last, set to take to the skies on Monday, May 13 using its sole CRJ-700, HC-CMY (c/n 10004). Using an initial investment of USD35million, LAC's owners - businessmen Carlos Torres, Luis Miguel and Victor Hugo Astudillo - plan to initially launch flights out of Cuenca to Quito Int'l, Guayaquil, Loja and Latacunga. With the arrival of a second aircraft due in the next six months, further operations are planned to Macas and Manta.

Línea Aérea Cuencana plans to add CRJ-900s for launch

LAC - Línea Aérea Cuencana (L5, Cuenca) seems to be finally getting closer to receiving an air operator certificate in Ecuador according to a news report by Ecuadorian news portal Hoy. LAC is currently conducting proving flights with its only aircraft, ex-Indycar Aviation (Indianapolis Int'l) CRJ-700 HC-CMY (c/n 10004) it has already taken delivery of last summer. It reportedly also plans to add two CRJ-900s to its fleet ahead of its planned launch of domestic services in Ecuador.
