Thai Airways Int'l retires last active A300s from service

Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) phased out its A300-600R fleet following a ceremony held at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on July 31. Research shows the type's last flights was operated by HS-TAZ (cn 787) between Khon Kaen and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.

Thai was a prolific operator of the A300 ordering a total of 34 from Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) between 1977 and 1998. Among the variants operated were thirteen A300B4s, six A300-600s and fifteen A300-600Rs.

Iran to ban 20+ year old aircraft from active service

Iran Air (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) could be severely impacted by a new directive from the Iran Civil Aviation Organization (IrCAO) banning all commercial aircraft over 20 years of age from active service.

China Eastern to retire the A300 by month-end

China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) will retire its last four remaining A300-600s following their final flights on May 31. Chinese aviation portal WCARN writes the type's final flights on the day will be Shenzhen to Shanghai Hongqiao as well as Guangzhou to Shanghai Hongqiao.

The ch-aviation aircraft database lists the last four remaining A300 aircraft as B-2318 (cn 707), B-2325 (cn 746), B-2326 (cn 754) and B-2330 (cn 763).

Monarch Airlines retires the A300 from revenue service

Monarch Airlines (ZB, London Luton) officially retired the A300-600R from its fleet on 13 April. Local news reports state that having completed its last flight from London Gatwick to Birmingham Int'l, G-OJMR (cn 605) is now destined to be scrapped in Tupelo, Mississippi.

The Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) passenger jet was the last of its type to operate in Europe.
