Last B747-200 freighter retired by Saudia Cargo

Saudia (SV, Jeddah) has retired its last and only B747-200(F) HZ-AIU (msn 24359) from service with the aircraft currently parked in Jeddah and expected to be ferried to Dammam soon for permanent storage and potential part-out. Saudia Cargo continues to operate two B747-8(F)s and four MD-11(F)s itself. Air Cargo Mongolia takes delivery of first aircraft, an A300-600R(F)

Air Cargo Mongolia (M5, Ulaanbaatar) has taken delivery of its first aircraft, an ex-myCargo Airlines (9T, Istanbul Atatürk) A300-600(F) freighter (c/n 743), to be re-registered in Mongolia as JU-8128. The Mongolian cargo start-up is planning to use the aircraft to operate cargo services from Ulaanbaatar to Frankfurt Int'l, Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok, Moscow Sheremetyevo, Novosibirsk, Seoul Incheon, Tianjin and Tokyo Narita.

Bulgaria's Air Scorpio set for first A300 freighter

Air Scorpio (SCU, Sofia) is set to take delivery of its first jet aircraft, an A300B4 freighter, LZ-RAC (c/n 105), formerly with myCargo Airlines (9T, Istanbul Atatürk) and currently parked at Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen. It has been speculated that the aircraft would in fact be operated by Air Max (RMX, Plovdiv) though this remains to be seen. Established in 1990, Air Scorpio's current fleet consists of a single Saab 340(F).

Turkey's myCargo retires its last four A300B4 freighters

myCargo Airlines (9T, Istanbul Atatürk) has retired its last four remaining A300 freighters (three A300B4-203(F)s and one A300B4-103(F)) in mid-March. Once a prolific Airbus operator, myCargo and its predecessor, ACT Airlines (9T, Istanbul Atatürk), had a fleet of seven A300B4 freighters and for a short time only, a single A300-600(F). Cargolux (CV, Luxembourg) is also of interest to Chinese airline group HNA according to a report by Tageblatt in Luxembourg. The 35% stake in Cargolux currently held by Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad Int'l) is up for sale after arguments between Qatar Airways and the government of Luxembourg could not be settled at the last board meeting.
