Thomas Cook Group refutes claims of airline sell-off

Thomas Cook Airlines UK (MT, Manchester Int'l) parent, the Thomas Cook Group, has played down a report in the Sunday Times claiming it is considering selling off its quartet of carriers. TUI Group to push ahead with airline consolidation plans

Thomson Airways (BY, London Luton) parent, TUI Group, is to push ahead with plans to consolidate its airline subsidiaries into one all-encompassing carrier. InterSky takes over Memmingen domestic routes from germanwings

InterSky (3L, Friedrichshafen) will take over Memmingen domestic routes from germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn), ch-aviation can exclusively reveal. Right now germanwings operates twice weekly flights from Memmingen to Berlin Tegel and Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel using a CRJ-900. Turkey's Tailwind to lease two ex-TUIfly B737-800s

Tailwind Airlines (TI, Istanbul Atatürk) is set to add its first B737 NextGen aircraft to its fleet of five B737-400s. According to Turkey's trfleetnews portal, Tailwind will lease a pair of former TUIfly (Germany) B737-800s with the first known to be D-AHFH (msn 27983) and the second speculated to be D-AHFI (msn 27984). Once in Turkey, they will be re-registered as TC-TLG and TC-TLH respectively.

Tailwind specializes in both operating national and international charter flights.

Merkel fighting in Air Berlin's corner

Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) is critical to Germany's aviation landscape German chancellor Angela Merkel has allegedly said.
