Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad (MAG) is planning to partner Lufthansa Technik AG in the establishment of a regional MRO facility at the carrier's Kuala Lumpur Int'l base.
Under the terms of the strategic partnership, the facility is scheduled to come online in 2017 and will use Malaysia Airlines' existing infrastructure. Once operational, it will specialize in the servicing of the A320 and B737 families of aircraft.

Chaba Airlines (CAH, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) has apparently given up plans to launch charter operations with two ex-Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) A340-300s as both aircraft originally delivered to the Thai charter carrier start-up have now been exported from Thailand to Kyrgyzstan from where they are expected to be immediately exported onwards to Iran.
