BoA - Boliviana de Aviación (OB, La Paz El Alto) plans to wet-lease an A330-200, reportedly from Portuguese ACMI carrier Hi Fly (5K, Beja), for its proposed first long-haul route linking Santa Cruz Viru Viru and Madrid Barajas. BoA plans to resume flights on this route previously served by defunct Bolivian airline AeroSur (Santa Cruz Viru Viru) from as early as December 7. It will face competition from Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) which will also serve the route twice weekly with A330-200s as of November 29 although some of Air Europa's flights in November and December initially have been combined with Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini and Caracas Simón Bolivar services presumably highlighting lower than expected demand for the route.
