Kam Air (RQ, Kabul) has been accused by the US military of being involved in drug smuggling from Afghanistan to Tajikistan reportedly transporting opium on some of its flights. The US military has now internally blacklisted Kam-Air no longer allowing its personel to travel on the airline's services. Kam-Air owner Zamari Kamgar has called the allegations "baseless, unbelievable and insulting" in an interview with news agency AFP. The Afghan government has called on the US military to provide evidence for its allegations. Kam-Air offers five weekly services between Kabul and Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe with MD-82s and MD-83s.
