Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) is rumoured to be keen on starting flights to London City using their A319-100s. However, owing to the airport's limitations, the aircraft will require some modifications prior to being approved for the service. It is believed the German carrier also intends to boost its European network coverage through a codeshare agreement with BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City). The airline has declined to comment on the rumours. Currently Air Berlin serves London Stansted from Düsseldorf.
