City Airways (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) is planning to add three more B737-400s to its current fleet of four before year end as part of its expansion plans. The airline, owned by a group of Thai, Chinese and Hong Kong tour firms, intends to use the aircraft to launch scheduled domestic flights from Bangkok Don Mueang to Chiang Mai and Phuket as well as international flights to Myanmar and Singapore. According to the airline's CEO, Thanabool Kerdskul, City Airways is due to take delivery of its fifth B737-400 in the middle of this month, the sixth towards the end of this month and the seventh by the end of this year. In the medium term, B737-800s are also being considered for use in longer-range flights to South Korea.
