GoodFly (Burgos) has had its contract with a consortium that manages León airport in North Western Spain, Consorcio del Aeropuerto de León, cancelled after the airline on September 7 & 8, inexplicably cancelled its flights from Ibiza, Menorca Mahón and Palma de Mallorca to León. As a result, the consortium was forced to charter an aircraft for the return of the stranded passengers. This is the latest in a series of incidents following the cancellation of several previous flights to Tenerife Norte, Malaga and Alicante in mid August. In a statement, the president of the Provincial Council of León, Isabel Carrasco, confirmed the consortium would terminate Goodfly's contract stating that it could not wait for any further damage to be done to the consortium's name and reputation. In addition, the president of the council of León said that it will start "legal action if there is found to be some criminal responsibility" in GoodFly's failure to fulfil its part of the contract, signed in April this year.
