Afric Aviation (Port Gentil) launched its maiden international route, Libreville Leon M'Ba to Douala, on September 1 with the 4x weekly flights operating onboard one of the airline's two ATR72-200s. According to Mr Alfred-Pierre Etouke, the CEO of Afric Aviation, Douala was chosen as demand for the route had grown following the demise of Air Service Gabon (Libreville Leon M'Ba) in 2010; the last Gabonese carrier to service the two cities. In June, the Gabonese operator further expanded its domestic network with the addition of flights to Gamba, Franceville/Mvengue and Moanda, GA. Libreville - Douala is also operated by Camair-Co (QC, Douala), South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo), Westair Bénin (Cotonou Cadjehoun) and RwandAir (WB, Kigali). Afric also operates contracts on behalf of oil and gas companies like Total Gabon, Shell Gabon, Perenco and Maurel & Prom.
