Condor (DE, Frankfurt International) will resume its flights to Egypt following a decision by its tour-operator arm, Thomas Cook Germany, to restart operations in Egypt from the end of September, just ahead of the peak winter sun season. While Berlin has yet to change a travel-advisory imposed on the North African country following the recent turmoil there, Thomas Cook Germany said that "the situation had become much calmer over the last few weeks and that the Red Sea resorts, which attract beach lovers and divers, had remained quiet." Condor serves Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. Meanwhile, rival TUI fly (Germany) (X3, Hannover) is unlikely to resume its Egyptian operations after parent TUI Deutschland said it would continue to heed the German government's travel advisory until further notice.
