Fil-Asian Airways (Zamboanga) has said in a statement on the company's Facebook page that it would hope to receive authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) shortly to launch its services. Fil-Asian has been mandated to make upgrades to the avionics systems of its YS-11 turboprop fleet prior to the CAAP awarding it with the necessary licenses to launch scheduled passenger services. Because of the mandate, Fil-Asian had missed its planned June launch date with its aircraft still parked at Manila Ninoy Aquino International. It hopes to be allowed to start flights to Tablas and Masbate shortly now following CAAP inspections of the aircraft.
