Arik Air (W3, Lagos) is considering the Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) CS300 as a possible replacement for its fleet of CRJ900s and B737-700s. "One option is potentially to take the CS300 product and use that to phase out our CRJ products, as well as [for] potential replacement for the Boeing 737-700, but all that is in play," chief executive Michael Arumemi-Ikhide told FlightGlobal. Meanwhile, the first of Arik's three CRJ1000s ordered during the 2013 Paris Airshow are due in West Africa by December 15 while the other two are due in the final quarter of 2014. The CRJ1000s will be used on flights from Abuja to Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International, Douala and Freetown. Four Dash 8-400s ordered at Paris will be delivered by the end of 2014 and will be used to develop the Port Harcourt Awolowo "mini hub" with routes to other oil-rich areas such as Takoradi and Douala.
