Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) will add two unspecified aircraft to its current fleet of twenty-nine aircraft before year-end the airline's Public Relations Director, Siyavosh Chavoushi, announced on Sunday. The Fars News Agency quotes the Managing Director of Iran Aseman Airlines, Abbas Rahmatiyan, as saying: “We have plans to use new airplanes for long-distance flights and in this regard we are thinking of long-range airplanes,” he said. Aseman operates a sole A340-300 on flights to Dubai International, Istanbul Atatürk, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen and Stockholm Arlanda. Despite the recent successful outcome of talks between Iran and the global powers, Iranian carriers are likely to remain subject to an embargo that forbids the transfer of aircraft younger than 20-years of age to the country.
