Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) and China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) will see increased competition out of their Nanchang International hub with news that the airport's owner, the Jiangxi Airport Group Company (JAGC), is considering establishing its own carrier in the near future. According to WCARN, the JAGC has already conducted extensive route analysis and market research for the region ahead of its planned application later this year. Located in south-eastern China, Nanchang's traffic comes largely from domestic Chinese airports and Hong Kong.
