Korean Air (KE, Seoul Incheon) is to invest in Hanjin Shipping Co. after the airline's parent, Hanjin Group, ended a long running family feud with the shipping firm's owner. According to CargoFacts, Hanjin Shipping Co chairwoman Choi Eun-young was forced to ask the Group for a bailout after three years of heavy losses. Ms Choi had sought to keep her enterprise separate from the Group, run by her brother-in-law, Cho Yang-ho. As such Korean Air will participate in Hanjin Shipping’s KRW400billion (USD370million) capital increase to the tune of KRW150billion.
