PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) is set to deploy its first A320-200s into service on domestic as well as regional flights with effect from March 30. The Pakistani national carrier recently awarded Qatar Aviation Lease Company a contract for the dry lease of ten of the aircraft.

Initial March 30 operations will cover Karachi International to Islamabad International and Lahore International to Dubai International. Thereafter, the A320 will see service between Karachi International and Lahore and from Lahore to Kuwait via Peshawar on March 31. On April 1, it will be deployed from Karachi to Faisalabad and Multan as well as from Lahore to Bahrain International via Doha Hamad International. From then on, the twinjet will be used on flights to Delhi International, Dhaka and Abu Dhabi International.

PIA will initially wet-lease A320-200s until its A320-200 on lease from QALC will be delivered later this year.
