ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda) is to place firm orders for seventy new aircraft worth JPY1.7trillion (USD16.6billion) at list prices with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National). The order, approved at a meeting of the Board of Directors of ANA Holdings, is the biggest in the airline’s history. The aircraft will be delivered during period of FY2016-2027 and will increase the size of the ANA fleet to 250 aircraft.

Referencing Boeing, ANA has decided to purchase twenty B777-9Xs as a successor to its existing fleet of B777-300(ER)s. In addition, the carrier will purchase six more B777-300ERs to support its international network growth until the B777-9Xs begin arriving.

It will also place fourteen additional orders for the B787-9 taking its total fleet of Dreamliners to eighty.

Referencing Airbus, the Japanese carrier's order consists of seven A320neo and twenty-three A321neo aircraft which will altogether replace ANA's last four B737-500s and fifteen A320ceos.

The new Boeing aircraft will be used predominantly on international routes while the new Airbus aircraft will be introduced both on domestic routes and international routes.
