Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) has extended the suspension on its Kyiv Boryspil to Simferopol flights until June 26 citing "flight operation restrictions" that are beyond its control.
Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has also halted its own Simferopol flights until June 17 while Belavia (B2, Minsk National) has shelved its Crimean summer plans altogether.
Tensions between Ukraine and Russia have reached new heights following Russia's unilateral decision to annex the peninsula last month. While a local referendum in Crimea purportedly showed mass public support for the move, its results, and Crimea's accession to the Russian Federation, have drawn mass international condemnation.
