Nok Air (DD, Bangkok Don Mueang) is considering returning to service two ATR72-200s it had previously leased from Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi). Should Nok choose to proceed with the deal, it will only be on a temporary basis given that the two 20-year-old turboprops - HS-TRA (cn 164) and HS-TRB (cn 167) - have already been put up for sale.

Nok Air currently operates a pair of ATR72-500s on flights from its Bangkok Don Mueang hub to Buri Ram, Chumphon, Loei, Mae Sot, Nan Nakhon, Phrae, Ranong and Roi Et.

The Thai carrier intends to phase out its ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) fleet with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) metal having recently ordered Dash 8-400s instead.
