Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) along with flydubai (FZ, Dubai International), Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah), IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad), Air India Express (IX, Delhi International), Yemenia (IY, Aden), PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International), Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu), Syrianair (RB, Damascus) and Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) have been directed by the Qatari Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) to transfer their Doha operations from Doha Hamad International to Doha Hamad International with effect from April 30.

National carrier Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) will only move into the new airport once all the lounges and duty-free shops are completed, the QCAA said in a circular to airlines.

Cargo services to the airport began on December 1, 2013.

The USD15.5billion project, which has missed a series of launch dates, including the end of 2012, April 1, 2013 and the end of last year, is now nearing completion with a capacity of 28million passengers per year.

The international terminal currently features three concourses and 33 contact gates though this will increase to five concourses and 65 contact gates, including eight for the A380-800 in the long run.
