Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) is to lease four B737-800s and one B737-900(ER) from Chinese lessors, BOC Aviation. The aircraft are due for delivery during the course of this year and 2015.

"The demand for short-haul regional routes remains robust, both within and outside of Indonesia," said Rusdi Kirana, President-Director of Lion Air.

The two entities' relationship dates back to 2012 when the Bank of China subsidiary delivered six B737-800s and three B737-900(ER)s to the Indonesian LCC.

Lion Air operates total of twenty-four B737-800s and sixty-eight B737-900 WIN.s.
