InterSky (Friedrichshafen) and CityJet (WX, Dublin International) will continue to operate as separate entities Intro Aviation president Hans Rudolf Wöhrl told journalists at the Luftfahrt-Presseclub in Berlin. Air France (AF, Paris CDG) and partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) recently agreed to Intro aviation's offer for Cityjet and its subsidiary, VLM (1992) (Antwerp), but did not disclose its value.

According to airliners.de, Wöhrl said the airlines could not be merged into a single viable entity given the lack of commonality in terms of their route networks. Intersky is currently positioned in the Lake Constance region - the tripoint of Switzerland/Germany/Austria - while Cityjet has made a name for itself with its strong connections out of London City. The only airport that is served by both airlines is Dresden.

He also warned that if plans to stem losses at InterSky fail, the airline could, as a worst case scenario, exit the scheduled services sector and instead become an ACMI specialist. It would then operate for Cityjet.

Wöhrl recently stated that among Intro's immediate concerns are refleeting Cityjet with aircraft that meet London City airport's operational requirements. Cityjet currently uses eighteen ARJ-85s and twelve Fokker 50s.
