Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will deploy its fleet of new B777-300(ER)s on flights to the United States following the country's re-classification to Category 1 by the US Federal Aviation Administration.

In a statement, the Filipino national carrier said it would deploy six Boeing 777-300ERs on flights to Los Angeles International and San Francisco in the United States within a month’s time. Services currently operate onboard a B747-400. For its flights to Honolulu and Guam International, PAL will continue to utilize its fleet of A330-300s and A320-200s.

PAL President & Chief Operating Officer Ramon S. Ang said: “Your flag carrier welcomes the return of the country’s aviation rating to Category 1. This is a culmination of the government’s hard work, as exemplified by the efforts of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, to upgrade the country’s international aviation safety standards.”
