Wizz Air Ukraine (Kyiv Igor Sikorsky) has announced further adjustments to its network and capacity, in response to continued low demand on domestic routes and a weaker Ukrainian Hryvnia.

In a statement, the Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) subsidiary said the planned opening of its Lviv base on April 30 has now been deferred until the market normalises. As a consequence, six new routes from Lviv to Barcelona El Prat, Naples Capodichino, Kutaisi, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, Rome Fiumicino and Valencia Manises have been temporarily suspended. Existing services to Dortmund, Milan Bergamo and Venice Treviso will, however, continue to operate.

"As soon as we see demand which supports additional growth, we will proceed with appropriate capacity enhancements. The adjustments announced today are temporary and we aim to restore our original growth plan as soon as possible," Akos Bus, Director General of Wizz Air Ukraine, said.

Kyiv Igor Sikorsky services to Sofia and Vilnius in addition to the Kharkiv service to Kutaisi have also been temporarily suspended.
