Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) has signed a lease agreement with the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) entailing five Airbus A350-900s and three A330-200s. According to the terms of the agreement, the A350-900s are scheduled to be delivered in 2017, while the A330-200s are expected later this year.

The Brazilian carrier says the aircraft will be used in launching its first international routes - São Paulo Viracopos to the United States - in early 2015.

“Our customers have been asking for this and now we look forward to providing them with our superior service on international flights, just as we have been doing today on our 880 daily domestic departures," Azul CEO David Neeleman said.

In line with its current domestic Brazilian operations, Azul operates fifty-eight ATR42s and 72s as well as a variety of Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) metal including E190s and E195s.
