Uzbekistan Airways (HY, Tashkent International) will convert two of its nine B767-300(ER)s into freighters Air Transport World has reported. Quoting the airline's European regional manager, Timur Kerimov, the publication says the B767-300Fs will be used to expand the Uzbek carrier's south-east Asian cargo services to Shanghai Pudong, Hong Kong International and Guangzhou.

A first aircraft is scheduled to undergo conversion in Singapore and should be ready for service in November.

Uzbekistan Airways will however retire its ageing fleet of two A300-600(F)s, Kerimov added.
