Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) has signed an agreement with Chunghwa Post, the official postal service of Taiwan, covering the transport of mail between Taipei Taoyuan and Fuzhou and Xiamen in Fujian Province. The agreement, which went into effect on April 1, mirrors a similar agreement signed with China Postal Airlines (CF, Nanjing) in 2010 in which the carriers agreed to share their Taiwanese mail transport business.

Beijing had originally designated five carriers to operate cross-strait cargo services - China Postal Airlines, Air China Cargo (CA, Beijing Capital), China Cargo Airlines (CK, Shanghai Hongqiao), China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou), and Yangtze River Express (Shanghai Hongqiao) - with six destination approved for cross-strait routes namely: Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing, Fuzhou and Xiamen.

The two Taiwanese carriers operating cross-strait cargo services are China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) and EVA Air (BR, Taipei Taoyuan).
