Cargojet Airways (W8, Hamilton, ON) will operate the world's first winglet equipped B757-200(PF) freighter following the aircraft's conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions later this year. The aircraft, a former American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) machine, N664AA (msn 25298), is currently at AeroTurbine's facilities at Goodyear for conversion into a 15-pallet freighter.

Once returned to service, the converted aircraft will fly long-distance routes in Canada, thereby benefiting from the fuel savings made possible by the winglets.

The Canadian cargo specialist also operates nine B727-200(F)s, three B757-200(PF)s and two B767-200(F)s. It is also in the process of adding B767-300F freighters to its fleet. Cargojet is expanding rapidly following the award of a major contract to provide capacity for the Purolator and Canada Post network.
