Amaszonas (Z8, La Paz El Alto) will launch Oruro's first international services with flights to the Chilean Pacific port of Iquique in September this year. According to information at hand, the flights will launch on September 12 and will operate 4x weekly on-board a CRJ200.

The route is expected to bolster tourism and business links between the two cities.

At present, the western Bolivian mountain town is connected to Cochabamba, Santa Cruz El Trompillo, Trinidad Jorge Heinrich Arauz, and Santa Cruz Viru Viru locally by Amaszonas as well as Aerocon (Santa Cruz El Trompillo).
