AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2, Baku Heydar Aliev International) has signed a firm order with Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) for two additional E190 at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2014. Valued at USD95.4million at list prices, the aircraft will add to the Azerbaijani's current fleet of two E170s and four EMB-190s.

“These additional E190s are the latest step in our renewal plan to replace turboprops and narrow-bodies on a number of routes within our schedules,” said Jahangir Askerov, President and Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC.

The twinjets will be configured in a dual class layout and will be deployed on flights from Baku Heydar Aliev International to European destinations such as Prague Václav Havel, Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino.
