PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) has announced it has selected proposals from lessor's Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services (AWAS) and US-based Aircastle following a tender for the dry-lease of ten narrowbody jets.

However, of the twenty-three A320 Family aircraft pitched to the Pakistani carrier, only three AWAS A320 aircraft - cn 3060, 3097, and 3031 - and one Aircastle A320 - cn 2564 - were accepted.

The other aircraft, which included nine AerCap A319-100s and ten A320s proferred by an anonymous private carrier, were rejected on the grounds they either did not fit the tender's criteria or their proposal's lacked necessary details.
