Jetairfly (Brussels National) along with Brussels Airlines (SN, Brussels National) and Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium (Brussels National) are once more set to benefit from EUR19million (USD25.69million) in indirect Belgian state aid. Belgium's RTBF says the funds are to be disbursed to the operator of Brussels National airport, the Brussels Airport Company, to assist with security costs.

Based on an endowment fund set up last year, the subsidies are to exempt the three Belgian airlines from paying for fire and security services among others. To qualify for the rebate, airlines must have transported at least 400,000 passengers during the reference year (2012).

However, in addition to complaining to the European Commission claiming the funds constitute illegal state aid, Irish LCC, Ryanair (FR, Dublin International), has also threatened legal action against any airline that accepts the funds.
