Mauritania Airlines International (Nouakchott) has taken delivery of its first E145LR, former N852EC (cn 14500852), following a ceremony held at Nouakchott on July 22. The hand over was attended by President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and various government and airline officials.

The aircraft, the Mauritanian carrier's first Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) equipment, will be deployed on flights to Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International (Senegal), Banjul (Gambia), Casablanca Mohamed V (Morocco), Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire), Bamako (Mali) and Conakry (Guinea) once the type has been certified by the country's civil aviation department (Agence Nationale de l'Aviation Civile - ANAC). It will also improve local connectivity.

Mauritania Airlines International also operates a B737-700 alongside two B737-500s on flights spanning West and Central Africa as well as Europe. A first B737-800 is also expected in due course.
