Cambodia Bayon Airlines (Phnom Penh) has set a tentative December launch-date ahead of its planned certification by the Cambodia State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA). According to press reports, Bayon's backers will invest USD100million over the coming months to purchase a fleet of MA-60s for use on domestic flights.

"We plan to start flights this December. This is the first company in Cambodia that will own its own aircraft, rather than leasing,” airline vice president, Taing Chun Leang, told the InvestVine publication adding that it plans to acquire five aircraft by the end of 2015.

The start-up is also considering plans to acquire a fleet of A320-200s for services to China.
