United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) will terminate its Topeka Forbes operations from September 2 effectively leaving the Kansan capital without scheduled air services. In a statement, the carrier said its decision to pull the plug on the airport, which it began serving only in January of this year, was due to low demand.

The airport currently sees a 13x weekly service to Chicago O'Hare operated by ExpressJet Airlines (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) under the United Express banner.
