SkyWork Airlines (Bern) has secured an unrestricted Air Operators Certificate from the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA). The application for the certificate came after a recent change in the carrier's ownership resulted in the scrapping of an earlier plan to transfer its flight operations to the AOC of its German partner MHS Aviation (Germany) (M2, Munich).

"In late January, FOCA extended the company's AOC until the end of summer 2014. The new management leveraged this time to refine its business model. After careful examination of the economic and financial situation at SkyWork Airlines AG, FOCA has decided to issue the company an Air Operator Certificate of unlimited duration," the regulator said.

Following on from the replacement of former CEO Rolf Hartleb by Martin Inäbnit, the airline says a new board of directors will be constituted in the coming weeks.
