Fly Eth (Vienna) is considering starting scheduled services out of the Austrian town of Klagenfurt CEO Fakete Shabani has said. Speaking to AustrianAviation.net, Shabani said his airline would not require subsidies to make any routes attractive given that it would target the town's business and tourist markets.

"We would make aircraft available for Klagenfurt at unbeatable rates, however, the marketing must be done by a partner company. For example, the local tourism outfit could take over the sale of tickets, thus creating a partnership solution for Carinthia. No other option is as viable for Carinthia," he said.

Presently, Klagenfurt sees service from Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) and germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn).

In the process of securing its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) with Austrocontrol, Fly Eth plans to operate in the lease and charter sector using a fleet of 17 aircraft (seven A320s, four ATR 72-500s, two Dash 8-400s, two Do328-100s and two Saab 340Bs). On its launch in the last quarter of this year, Fly Eth will reportedly operate an initial eight turboprops.
