Dobrolet (Moscow Sheremetyevo) management says it is committed to seeing the Low Cost Carrier resume operations as soon as possible. Following the announcement of an order for sixteen B737-800 with Boeing (BOE, Washington National), CEO Andrei Kalmykov told Russia's Gazeta newspaper: "This again confirms our plans for development. The management is doing everything possible in order to resume operating activity as soon as possible."

The Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) subsidiary will begin taking delivery of the twinjets from 2017 until 2018.

Ironically, Kalmykov states the deposit for the order was paid on Monday, August 4 - the exact date Dobrolet officially announced it was suspending operations in light of increased European Union sanctions. The sanctions, it said, had resulted in the annulment of existing lease, MRO and insurance agreements rendering it impossible to continue operating.
