Aircalin (SB, Nouméa La Tontouta) has moved ahead with plans to lease an A340-300 from Air Tahiti Nui (TN, Papeete) to cover the absence of its two A330-200s both of which are due in for necessary maintenance one after the other.
As it currently stands, F-OJTN (cn 395) has now been deployed on the New Caledonian carrier's flights from Nouméa La Tontouta to Auckland International, Osaka Kansai, Papeete and Sydney Kingsford Smith.
The arrangement is set to last until October 25 of this year.
