Polar Airlines (PI, Yakutsk) has acquired its first, and Russia's first, PC-6 turboprop from Switzerland's Pilatus Aircraft (PCH, Buochs). The Yakutia-Sakha news agency says the aircraft will be based out of the Srednekolymsky District and will be used to increase connectivity throughout the region, particularly during the harsh winter months.

The official presentation of the aircraft will take place at Yakutsk on August 27.

Polar Airlines operates an all-Russian fleet of nine An-26s and twelve An-24s on scheduled and charter passenger and cargo flights.
