Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) will tentatively resume domestic operations within the next two months an airline representative panel told a parliamentary inquest last week.

The BDnews24 newswire says parliament told the carrier's representatives to either buy or lease small aircraft to allow for the resumption of the flights, suspended since 2011.

The airline was to have resumed the flights in March and then June this year using ATR72s only to scrub the plans at the last moment. Previous CEO Kevin Steele had blamed the incessant delays in the resumption on a lack of suitable responses to a Request For Proposal (RFP) for two leased turboprops.

As it currently stands, Bangladesh's domestic coverage is currently provided by NovoAir (VQ, Dhaka), Regent Airways (Dhaka), United Airways (Dhaka), and US-Bangla Airlines (BS, Dhaka).
