BQB Líneas Aéreas (Punta del Este) has terminated its Brazilian network as part of an ongoing restructuring plan leaving only flights to Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery and Asuncion regionally and Punta del Este domestically. The airline had served Florianopolis, Porto Alegre International, São Paulo Guarulhos, and Curitiba International in Brazil.

Uruguay's El Pais newspaper says company sources have insisted that the cut backs are aimed only at downsizing the firm and are not as a result of financial difficulties.

Last month, BQB was forced to return its A319-100 after Argentine authorities refused to grant it clearance to serve Buenos Aires Aeroparque. The move also resulted in over 50 positions being terminated.

The carrier has also faced difficulties with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) following delays in its payments of fees to the organization.
