Centurion Air Cargo (Miami International) is faced with further legal action, this time from a group of five Irish statutory trusts. The South Florida Business Journal reports the group has filed a claim against the carrier and its parent, SkyLease Cargo (GG, Miami International), over USD10.2million in unpaid lease payments owed on five aircraft: one B747-400(F) and four MD-11(F)s.

The plaintiffs are demanding Centurion return its aircraft, but the airline has steadfastly refused. The planes have an estimated value of USD66.9million.

Last week, it was reported that Centurion's fuel supplier, Chemoil Corp., had also filed several lawsuits against it over USD12.9million in outstanding fuel bills owed on 11 aircraft. Chemoil had moved to repossess the aircraft, including the five mentioned above, as a means of settling the debt.
