IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) will reportedly retire its last remaining operational B747SP from revenue service in late November Germany's aero.de news has said. The newswire claims EP-IAC (msn 21093) will operate a sightseeing flight over Tehran on November 23 following which it will be phased out. The flight is being organized by the Pars Tourist Agency.

At present, the aircraft is still in use on commercial flights to Beijing Capital, Kuala Lumpur International and Mumbai International.

Iran Air will continue to operate vintage B747 metal with a single B747-200(F) and three B747-200(M)s stil in active service.
