Air Canada rouge (RV, Toronto Pearson) is set to make its first foray into the Asian market when it launches a seasonal Vancouver International to Osaka Kansai service in 2015. The Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) subsidiary said in a statement that subject to regulatory approval, the 5x weekly flights will operate between May 1 and October 24, 2015 on-board a B767-300(ER).

"The expansion of Air Canada rouge to compete in the fast-growing Asian leisure market in tandem with Air Canada's mainline fleet renewal, is a key element of our strategy for sustainable, profitable growth at both airlines. By next summer, Air Canada rouge, Air Canada, and Star Alliance partner airline ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda) will offer up to six daily non-stop flights between Canada and Japan," said Benjamin Smith, Air Canada's President, Passenger Airlines.

At present, Air Canada rouge operates twenty A319-100s and eight B767-300(ER)s on flights to leisure destinations in Europe, Mexico, the US and the Caribbean.
