TransNusa (8B, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has taken delivery its first ATR42-600, PK-TNJ (cn 1015), following a handing over ceremony in Toulouse Blagnac on September 25. The carrier has options for three more ATR of the type, a statement said here today.

The Indonesian operator, the second ATR42-600 operator in the country after Jhonlin Air Transport (JLB, Banjarmasin), will use the new turboprop for a five-year contract it won this year from one of Indonesia's large oil consortia. Following its entry into service in November, the aircraft will be used to operate a 6x weekly Jakarta Halim to Natuna Ranai service.

TransNusa also operates a BAe 146-200 and four Fokker 50s on flights in the Nusa Tenggara, Lesser Sunda Islands, region of Indonesia.
